Global Running Day is June 1, 2016
The Million Kid Run is about making fitness fun and

inspiring kids to embrace running as a way to get healthy and fit.

We’re challenging all Billion Mile Race schools to rack up more miles this spring by participating in Global Running Day on June 1st.

On Global Running Day people everywhere will celebrate the joys of running. From the United States to London, Berlin to Tokyo, adults and kids alike will be running, and Billion Mile Race schools are invited too!

Participation is easy – just pledge at to take part in some type of running activity on June 1, 2016. It can be your school’s usual running routine, a special event, or any other fun activity that gets kids

While people of all ages are invited to take part, we’re making a special appeal to our Billion Mile Race schools. That’s because for the first time ever during Global Running Day, the Million Kid Run aims to have 1 million kids from all corners of the globe taking part. That’s where you come in. Your students are already running — pledge your school and it’ll be added to the list of runners from all over the world who are coming together to celebrate the sport.

The New Balance Foundation Billion Mile Race is hosted by Active Schools Acceleration Project (ASAP), an initiative of ChildObesity180 at Tufts University Friedman School of Nutrition. Generous support is provided by our title sponsor, the New Balance Foundation. Learn more and join the Race at
